Authors Notes:  Wow! This is the first time in a very long time I have written anything other than RP in the last seven years or so. I'm not sure if my dear Sesshoumaru is here to stay, but I am happy that he has graced my lowly self with his presence. Being one of my former muses, it just makes me happy that he came by, even for a little visit. I hope you enjoy this. Happy reading!

In the End

Sesshoumaru stood silently in the middle of the large field. The grass was brown and high, ready for cutting and storing for the winter months. A breeze blew by, lifting the ends of his hair ever so slightly, on it he caught the scent of burning wood in the distance, he also caught traces of meat being prepared for the evening meal. All around him life went on, while it seemingly stood still for him. He was hundreds of years old, and today was the first time he felt the weight of those years.

Looking down at his customary outfit he was still startled by the sight of his left arm being there where it belonged. He had recently acquired it and had it reattached, that hadn’t been an easy task since it had taken so damn long to do so. Even so, seeing it there, filling his sleeve again was startling. For so long after his half brother had taken it from him, it had sat empty and he futilely tried replacing it with the arms of many other demons. None of them lasted of course, for very long, after a while he had stopped trying as it no longer handicapped him as it once did. With a soft sigh he looked out again at the field around him.

There were subtle changes everywhere that announced the change in seasons; the air was lighter for one, not quite as heavy with heat as with the late Spring and Summer. The leaves on the various trees and bushes starting to change, or just wither and die outright. Nights were getting longer… So very many things. He closed his eyes and lifted his head a bit as he recalled times past. Rin loved this time of year.

Rin.

Even now he thought of her. Of how beautiful she had grown as time passed for her. From a precocious, mischievous child, to a mature, beautiful female. Even for a ningen she had been exceptional in her beauty. Time had also matured that beauty until it started to fade some, as it must for the humans. Still, she insisted that she remain by his side until finally too much time had passed and she was no longer able to travel with him and Jakken. Ah-Uhn remained behind with her when he traveled about, so he had recruited some demons to watch over her while he was gone. Jakken often stayed and sometimes, even he stayed with her for long periods of time, though it pained him to see her so. But that smile, that smile that had captivated him from their first meeting remained the same, right up until the end.

Lowering his head he tried to ignore the pain that seared his heart. Her passing hadn’t been easy for him, or Jakken for that matter. His servant had, despite everything, had cared for Rin. She was hard not to love. His only regret was not following his urges to make her his and raise a family with her. But his stupid pride had gotten in the way, and it denied them both of what they wanted. Now it was all too late. She had been escorted to the Underworld not long ago, and was now reunited with her kin. He wondered if he would ever get to see her again when it was his time, or would he be on this earth for more centuries to come?

Without a whisper or a sound he turned and walked back to the clearing in the woods that held her house. He would no longer need it as she was no longer there. Why keep around the one thing guaranteed to make him feel pain over and over again by coming to it? He did not want to feel anything. However he knew he was forever changed by the little girl who came to his aid, who smiled despite him being rude to her, and who repaid it with nothing but kindness for the wounded demon. Reaching the house he saw Jakken and Ah-Uhn there, waiting outside for him already. With a subtle nod to Jakken, his servant raised the two headed staff, and using the Old Man’s face, burned it to nothing but cinders. Briefly he closed his eyes and hoped she received her belongings on the other side.

“Come, Jakken. There is nothing more for us to see here.”

“Ye-yes, milord! As you will,” Jakken stuttered out as he scrambled to the two headed dragon beast. As quick as he could on his stubby legs, he clamored aboard the large two headed dragon and with a tap of his heel, the beast took off without a fuss. Sesshoumaru stayed a moment longer before summoning a cloud beneath his feet and rose into the air, and swiftly out distanced his servants. He was never coming back to this clearing, nor this province. She was no longer here to bring him back, the past was the past and he lived in the here and now. He just hoped his heart believed the bullshit his head was saying.

End.

Reposted!

Today Kyo makes his first appearance in my shuffles. He was being a big pest and wanted some "air time". Sorry if the ones on him seem strained and forced. I had to do something...He was waving a nearly 5 ft. sword at me. It was either write something for him or become minced meat... O.o So, please enjoy. ^_^

( He can be such an ass! )

Aka no Ou - Crimson King

Somewhere - Within Temptation

Running through the mist the little girl called out her compainions name.

She couldn't find him. He had finally left her behind.

This couldn't be happening!

"LORD SESSHOUMARU! LORD SESSHOUMARU! WHERE ARE YOU," she shouted into the misty forrest.

She tripped over an unseen tree root and landed hard face first in the soft dirt. When she picked her head up, tears made muddy tracks down her pale cheeks. She didn't want to be left behind with the humans. She wanted her Sesshoumaru. She wanted to be by his side for as long as he human life will allow it.

Getting up she tried to run again, but found that she couldn't. Looking down she saw what the problem was. She was stuck between some exposed roots and she had scraped her ankles pretty bad. Blood oozed from the superfical wound mingling with the dirt and stinging something awful.

She tried to get loose, but she was held fast by the enormous plant.

Sitting down as best she could with her foot caught awkwardly, she resigned herself to the fact that her Lord Sesshoumaru had gotten tired of her childish antics and has decided to leave her to her own devices.

Scrubbing fresh tears off her face she finally broke down and started sobbing into the sleeve of the once clean kimono. He had just recently given it to her as a birthday gift. The pretty pastel colors were now marred by her tears and from the soft, dark earth of the forest.

"Why are you crying foolish child," scolded a familar voice.

"LORD SESSHOUMARU," squealed Rin happily.

Bending over Sesshoumaru free the now 11 year old Rin from the tree's roots and scooped her up into his arms and carried her away into the mists.

She knew he wouldn't leave her behind, after all, she was his.

Bring Me to Life - Evanescence

Kyo stared at his body incased in the large block of ice.

It had been so long since he'd been in his own body.

For four damn years he had to share one with Kyoshiro. That damn "medicine peddler". How he made him sick. To add insult to injury, he had been using his precious Tenro to knock fruit off of trees!

But finally he was getting his own body back.

He stared at himself and reached out a hand to touch it. The only thing now keeping him from it was three feet of solid ice.

He wanted to pound on it until it broke a part and it crumbled around his feet. And then when it was out of his way, he'd be able to go back to his own body.

Oh how he would love that! He'll finally have his own strength back instead of Kyoshiro's to rely on!

He looked at the blond girl next to him. She was looking at him a bit apprehensively. She should be scared.

But then the strangest thing occured.

She smiled at him as if she were encouraging him.

Damn that Yuya! He didn't want her encouragement. He wanted her afraid of him. Wanted her scared spitless so she would go away and leave him be. He wanted to fight the way he wanted to and not have to worry where she was at and what was happening to her.

She may have survived the trip through the Mibu lands and may have learned some dark secrets that lurked her brother's past an come out strong.

Damn her and her love!

Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace

He was an animal!

She ran as fast as he legs could carry her. However it wasn't fast enough as Kyo was hot on her heels.

"That's right Yuya," sneered Kyo. "You better run!"

The chase continued.

He had become a mad man once he regained his own body. The power that radiated off him was ten times stronger than when his spirit was still trapped in Kyoshiro's body.

Sobbing Yuya continued to run at full speed.

It still wasn't enough. Kyo soon caught up to her and tackled her to the ground.

"Now you are mine at last," he said before he swooped down and captured her startled lips.

That's All I've Got To Say - America

Jehnna and Warren were curled in front of the TV in his cabin. They were watching "The Last Unicorn" and it was at the scene where Prince Lir was singing to the now human unicorn. Tears were running down Jehnna's cheeks and she gave a sniffle.

Placing her head on his shoulder she let the music flow over her as she snuggled closer to Warren who handed her a tissue without any comment.

Warren couldn't believe he was watching such a movie, but it made his Jehnna happy and that was all that mattered. Placing a gentle kiss on her brow he shifted so his wings were more comfortable.

Looking down he was surprised to see that she had fallen asleep before the movie ended. With a gentle smile he whispered the Prince's lyrics to his sleeping girlfriend.

He was surprised when Jehnna joined in with the Unicorn's lines. He could feel his cheeks getting red, but continued the impromptu duet with her.

By the end he was carrying her to the large bed to go to sleep as she had finally drifted off.

In The End - Linkin Park

Kyo stood reveling in the power his real body gave him. It took him a moment to realize that he was even in it. It had been so long that he had almost forgotten it.

Opening his eyes suddenly he drew the Tenro against Kyoshiro but was stopped when Yuya stepped between the two intense warriors.

"Stop Kyo," she said with determination in her voice. "Now is not the time for this. First we must stop Aka no Ou."

"step aside, dog-face," he growled between clenched teeth. He had been waiting four years to avenge his name. Kyoshiro had sullied it while he was incarcirated in his body. He wanted vengence.

"No Kyo. Not this time," she said.

They stood glaring at each other for a minute.

"Whatever dog-face," he finally said, sheathing the deadly blade. He wasn't happy being stopped in his quest with vengence against the other samurai.

"Thank you," she said softly.

The group, who were tensed and ready to do battle settled down. Kyo backed down for now, but they all knew what was coming in the end.

They all did.

Well, I've finally done it.

Yup, I did the fan fiction shuffle. Though instead of using my MP3 player, I just used winamp since hubby has confiscated mine. * glares at him *

Addicted - Saving Abel 3:43
Rain was falling down in thick sheets, blurring the outside world beyond the cabin's master bedroom. However the two young occupants didn't care. All they cared about was how fast they could remove the others clothing.

In their haste shirts and bra's got ripped and feathers flew around in the room.

Mountains and Rivers - Twelve Girls Band 5:08
Rin trailed her fingers in the cool stream water, only drawing back when a fish came to nibble at the digits. Giggling she straightened back up and prepared to walk in to bathe when she felt eyes boring into her back with fierce intensity.

Looking over her shoulder she saw her lord look at her with hunger in his eyes. Without a word he held out his hand to her beckoning her to him. Without hesitation she went to him without thought.

After she reached him and stood before him, he gently turned face up to his for a long and lingering kiss. It was the first time he had ever done so and had startled her. With a reassuring caress he soothed her reservations.

Rin was surprised to say the least. He had never shown he had feeling for her as anything other than a protector. Breaking the kiss, she looked up to him with questions in her eyes. The answers to those questions were in his eyes. With a smile she kissed him once again.

It was a summer interlude that neither one of them ever forgot.

Forsaken - Within Temptation 4:518
Kagome and Inuyasha stood in front of Naraku for the final time. It was time that hellish demon was destroyed now and forever!

Grabbing her bow and an arrow from her quiver she notched it in place, no words were needed between her and Inuyasha who brought the Tetsuigia from it's sheath. Their friends laid bloodied and bruised around them. They were the only ones left standing. The only ones with the energy to fight Naraku

"You'll never destroy me half-breed," sneered Naraku as he assumed his true demonic shape.

"Your going down Naraku, you won't make it out a live to torment us anymore," yelled Kagome. Pulling her arrow back a little more she let it loose. The amount of spiritual energy encompassing the arrow was tremendous.

As if it was choreographed, Inuyasha raised his father's heirloom sword above his head and with a mighty bellow called out the attack.

"BAKARYUHAAAA!"

The two energies combined into a monstrous attack. Naraku tried to dodge it but his cumbersome body was too slow to react. So in a last ditch effort he tried to teleport away, but it was too late.

The combined attacks of Inuyasha and Kagome was too intense, too swift for him to get out of the way and save his own skin. He grabbed Kagura and threw her in front of him as a last ditch effort. It wasn't enough.

Both him and Kagura were destroyed by the combined demonic and spiritual attack.

The black cloud that had been covering their battle, broke apart and let the late afternoon sun shine on them

Naraku was dead!

Whisper - Evanescence 5:27
Jehnna turned her stereo up in her bedroom. Her parents were arguing about her again.

She just wished that they would all just leave her the fuck alone. It wasn't like she choose to become a damn mutant...A freak of nature.

The yelling got louder and a the first dish of the evening got smashed.

She buried her head under the pillow to block out the sounds of dishes being thrown and the yelling that was becoming an almost daily occurrence.

A knock sounded at her door.

"Jehnna, come out here please," said her mother, tears thick in her voice.

"NO!"

"Jehnna please! I want to talk with you," her mother begged.

"NO! I'm not coming out," she yelled back. The sound was amplified by her recently manifested powers. The door rattled in its frame.

"Jehnna, get out here now! You are in big trouble young lady," said her angry father. He was pounding on the door now.

"No! I will not go out there. I will not color my hair back, I don't care what you think! LEAVE ME ALONE," she shouted. Several things fell to the floor and broke in her once feminine looking room. It now resembled a trash heap.

The sound of weeping came from the other side of the room accompanied by the lower tones of her father.

"Don't worry honey, she'll go," said Jehnna's father.

Hearing this Jehnna was outraged. They wanted her gone. Fine. She'll go where ever they send her and she won't look back.

Getting up from her once pristine bed, she opened the door to her parents.

"Fine, I'll go, but I'm not coming back. Ever."

With that she slammed the door shut and buried her head in her pillows once again.

The sound of her weeping was muffled by the thick goose down pillows.

She turned the music up to a teeth rattling setting and cried herself to sleep. She never did have to get up and do it either.

All Souls Night - Loreena McKennit 5:29

It was a quiet night.

Strange, but true.

No trick-or-treaters had come to the couples door in the hours after school had let out for the day.

There had been plenty of kids wandering the block but none had come to theirs.

A bowl of assorted candy lay untouched at the front door ready to be given out the myriad of children parading around in gaudy costumes, with parents close behind.

When the sun started to fade, the couple turned off their porch light and started up the stairs to their bedroom.

Slowly clothing dripped off fingers and skin touched skin.

Light and Dark met in a dance as old as time and silkn sheets twisted and soaked up the passion the couple had for each other.

Later as they laid there in bed they held each other tight as it became full dark and the stars came out to dot the early night sky.

It had been 40 years since they married but they loved each other as much as they did when they were younger and had met at the school for the gifted. Now both were retired X-Men and the only call they answered now from there were for when they needed a substitute instructor or teacher.

Warren had long since retired from his company and now their oldest son had taken over as CEO of Worthington industries.

Life had been good to them, as it had been to the rest of the now retired Purple team.

The feather that Jehnna had captured all those years ago, sat still perfectly preserved in her journal marking the day she fell in love with her husband.
Here is the latest installment of my Mp3 shuffle.

Enjoy!

Never Too Late - Three Days Grace 3:29

Jehnna threw her books down on her bed after another hellish day of school.

Its been the same way since her powers manifested themselves at a football game. Everyone looked at her like she was a freak of nature.

They called her names, horrid names. At her! Popular and pretty Jehnna.

Even the "outcasts" of her social circle didn't want to have anything to with her. They spat at her threw their disgusting lunches at her.

Standing in front of the mirror with a box of black hair coloring and tears running down her face, she mixed the contents together and squeezed the mess on her hair leaving two blond streaks at the front. Those she was saving for another color.

After depositing another box of black hair color on her very long tresses she took the remaining colorant and squeezed a little in her hand and then did the unthinkable to her pretty room. She smeared it on the wallpaper, the bedding, the frame itself, on her dolls and clothing.

Panting and sobbing now she melted to the floor crying her eyes out and screamed her agony to the world. Downstairs her parents cringed at the sound of breaking glass.

When she was done with her hair, gone were the golden tresses and in its place was black with two pieces of purple and in her eyes there was no trace of the old Jehnna.

She was gone forever and in her place was someone much more cynical.

Hikari - Utada Hikaru 5:03

It was the night of the senior prom. And everything was perfect. Her dress sparkled a gorgeous blue with sequince dotted about for effect.

She twirled in front of her full length mirror to check everything and sighed happily.

Inuyasha would be meeting her at the gym, he said he had a surprise for her. She couldn't wait to get there, He said he had something to give her.

As soon as Mrs. Higurashi dropped her off at the double doors Kagome made a beeline for their designated spot. However when she got there she got the nastiest shock of her life.

Kikyo and Inuyasha were locked in a passionate embrace. Kagome dropped the carnation she had for his black tuxedo.

"Inuyasha," said Kagome in a whisper. The sound traveled well as the music just started.

Kikyo broke the kiss and turned to smirk at the stunned girl with the bright red flower in her hand.

"Go away Kagome, Inuyasha is my boyfriend now," she said with malicious glee sparkling in her eye.

"No Kagome, that's not true," protested Inuyasha.

"Then why were you kissing her," she said with a quavering voice.

"It was just supposed to be something friendly, not like what you saw," he said earnestly as he reached for her, brushing past a still smirking Kikyo.

"LIAR," she screamed, tears running down her face. In a twirl of skirts she ran back out the doors, and not paying attention to where she was running, ran out in front of an approaching limo.

The driver couldn't stop in time, and Kagome never saw what hit her. After being struck she flw up on the hood and smashed into the windshield. It was over so quickly. And she never felt any pain.

At least that is what the EMT's said as they consoled her mother.

And Kikyo never stopped smiling.

Who Wants to Live Forever - Queen 4:56

Sesshoumaru stared at her grave emotionlessly.

Her time finally came after 58 years of life and the Tensegia couldn't stop her death this time. He couldn't bring her back like last time. She was gone. His whole world now darkened with her passing into the afterlife.

He searched tirelessly for a way to keep her young and beautiful for as long as he lived.

He can admit it now.

He loved her with all his heart. No matter what others had thought of him, his heart was not cold to her.

He had to watch his Rin get older and closer to death with each passing year. And the sad thing was, she never stopped following him or stopped smiling at him. No matter where they went, she was always by his side except these last eight.

So he built his love a home, hopping she would stay there. But she didn't. She still followed and still smiled, even up to her death.

He was so alone now. Even Jakken had been killed again. He cursed the fact that Tensegia could only save someone once. He cured having it at all. He wouldn't be in so much agony now if had saved her life as a child.

No, he should have saved himself this future pain and let her go and be with the rest of her family when she was still a child.

Turning away from the simple headstone in the house he had built for her he strode off into the morning sunlight that dappled the ground at her feet. He will never forget the smile on her face when she first saw it.

Nor would he ever forget the smile she gave him when they first met. Her a small child and him a wounded demon.

No he would never forget her.

Not ever. Not his precious Rin.

Everybody's Fool - Evanescence 3:15

Kagome wandered around in the dark for what seemed like hours.

She was trying to find the camping spot they had picked out.

"Damn! This why I hate playing tag in the fucking dark," she harrumped as she sat on a damp log. With a squeal that indicated that said the log wasn't dry after all.

After brushing her shorts off she started wandering around again trying to find someone that can help her back to camp.

Almost immdediately she heard some rustling and some throaty moaning.

'Someone must be hurt,' she thought as she picked her way through the under brush and to the source of the moans.

"Is everyone al-," she stopped in horrified midsentence.

Kikyo and Inuyasha were wrapped around each other tighter than two snakes mating, their clothes strewn about in a haphazard fashion.

Kagome was stunned. Then she was pissed. She blindly picked up what was next to her. It happened to be a stout three foot stick.

With silent feet she went to stand over the frenzied couple. Raising her makeshift weapon above her head she swung it down with a terrible skull cracking force.

Inuyasha reared up in pain and confusion, still buried in Kikyo's body. With another mighty swing Kagome hit him across the face.

By this time Kikyo was screaming her head off. Kagome lashed out with her foot and caught her in the face, breaking the cheekbone.

"I AM NOT YOUR FOOL ANYMORE!"

Gone Forever - Three Days Grace 3:41

Jehnna couldn't understand it.

How could this happen?

She didn't understad why everyone hated her when yesterday she was the most popular girl in school. She didn't plan on this "mutant" thing.

She looked at herself. Beautiful skin, long blonde hair, emerald green eyes. Best GPA in school.

Standing in the middle of the hallway she watched as her now former boyfriend walk away with his arms wrapped around her supposed best friend who just kicked her off the cheerleading squad.

"Sorry Jen," said Taylor in an insincere manner. "But we don't want a freak like you on our squad."

"But you can't do that," she protested heatedly.

"Yes we can," she said smugly. "I've already asked the principal and he agrees with me."

"Bullshit," cursed the normally mild-mannered teen.

"Oh, its not," she sneered.

It dawned on her finally. "You were never my friend, were you."

"God Jehnna, how can it take you so long to figure that tid-bit out," Taylor said as she groped Josh in front of her and the rest of the student body.

"But, what about growing up together," she whispered, stunned.

"Please, my mother made me," she sneered.

"But-," she stammered.

"Look, give it up Jehnna," she said. "I never liked you and now that it turns out you are another freak, I like you less. Now get out of my way."

Jehnna watched as her world continued to crumble.
